I posted the CD version that came in the boxset here as one of the first uploads I ever made to the blog and now I can finally upload the tape that came with it thanks to Yoshi of oTo Records who sent me the actual boxset by surprise. I ordered a Killie tshirt and the entire boxset was sent to me as well as the shirt! The box is still out of print on the site but if you like band please do buy one of their CD’s or a shirt from the band!
Also, my original info was wrong, the tape was not housed in a cement block, just this really nice white card tape box. Oh well.
Killie – Offering A Sacrifice… (Tape) [SelfReleased, 2008]
This is a screamo mixtape I’m after putting together to go alongside the one Alan put up on the Letter From Belgium blog here the other week. It was put together in less than an hour but it covers all the bands I wanted in there that weren’t already in Alan’s mix along with a few newer bands that haven’t been around long and deserver a bit of recognition. The title Offering A Sacrifice comes from a Killie album which I’ve uploaded and posted here.

VA – Offering A Sacrifice (A Screamo Mixtape)
Cease Upon The Capitol were a fine screamo/emoviolence band that existed from 2003-2007. I first heard this 7″ after downloading it fairly randomly from another blog and managed to track down the last few distro copies in existance from the Japanese label that helped release this (email if you want a copy, I have 3 left) but as this has been sold out totally for the last three years or so here it is for you to hear. Great great band and this 7″ was probably their best release. Now playing in bands like Dolcim & Sanctions.
Cease Upon The Capitol – The End Of History 7″ [2004, Child Is Mine]
“Twelve tracks of dark hardcore from Tennessee. Very personal and, at times, fucking hostile lyrics. There are some obvious FROM ASHES RISE influences but not overt attempt to be quite as epic sounding.”
“Crushing, depressive d-beat crust punk from nashville. re-lighting the torch of tennessee crust, sanctions brings more melody and catharsis to the genre. for fans of ekkaia, from ashes rise, and his hero is gone. black ink on black pro-tapes”
Sanctions – Home Sweet Home cassette [Meat Cube Label, 2008]
I’ve a better picture of this myself on another harddrive that’ll I edit in later on..
This post is the reissue of the debut 7″ by the screamo band The Spirit Of Versailles. Originally released in 1999 it sold out pretty damn fast and this reissue was an edition of 400 in 2007. This is also long sold out.. The Spirit of Versailles were a screamo/hardcore band from Sioux Falls in South Dakota that existed from July 1998 – October 2000. The original line up was Tanner Olsen (guitar), Eric Evenson (bass), BJ Anderson (vocals) and Matt McFarland (drums).
They were a pretty amazing band who played with all the big names back in the day (Usurp Synapse, Jeromes Dream, I Spoke, Saeita) and left a pretty good legacy after them. The first thing you’ll notice straight off is their vocalist.. It sometimes sounds like Donald Duck fronting a hardcore band but you get used to it!

This discography was released as a CDR for the Army Of Flying Robots/Burning The Prospect Irish tour of 2006 and was packaged in a nice shiny slip case. The proper CD version of it came out on Super-Fi Records a few months after that and sold out pretty quickly.
“UK hardcore perennials AOFR have been shredding faces for a good few years now and this neat little slice of plastic somehow manages to contain the material they’ve spat into the public domain between the years 2001-2005, namely their debut 7″ on the Audacious Art Experiment, split 10″ with Jinn and last year’s split 7″ with fellow sluggers Taint.”

Not got much to say about this band except that they were an amazing US screamo band that existed for a few years and put out a few amazing records (including the sublime End Of History 7″). This here is the CUTC contribution to the ApeMustNotKillApe Singles Series. This is the “A” in the series when it started way back in 2007.. The band broke up in early 2008 and now play in other great bands like Dolcim.
