I found this cassette in the distro run by Dylan of Hide Away Records who had been given by another distro to offload them. Neither realised the fact that Fuck It Tapes are a pretty well known label. Also had the Gospel demo tape in there too (to be posted too) which I’ve never even seen online or for sale..
Anyway, onto the band. Newgenics were a hardcore/indie supergroup from South Carolina in the States.. They seemingly released a couple of 7″s after this demo tape but I haven’t any of them or even seem them for sale bar the 7″ released on Level Plane which is a pretty good record. Musically they remind of possibly the best hardcore group at the moment, Haram (who also seem to be not up to much these days) which is about the best touchstone I can think of right now. Imagine a hardcore band doing covers of classic/lite rock with more distortion and your somewhere there. The tape is remarkably well produced sounding for only a cassette demo as well actually.
And I love the tape warble at the very start of Track 1..
