This is the last live FLAC upload I’ll make for a while, back to regular MP3 rips after this one. This is a recording of Aaron Dilloway made in London after the ATP Nightmare Before Christmas 06. Superb soundboard sourced recording, if your normally allergic to FLAC because of the size of the files this file is only 85mb so check it out and listen to a good speaker set or headphones to get the full experience.
Aaron Dilloway – Bardens Boudoir, London (7th Dec 2006) [Live FLAC Recording] (85mb RAR)
This is the (already) legendary concept LP of 19 tracks of “processed silence”. As you can hear, this is far from being silent! Just a note on the ripping of this, this was ripped using an Ion DJ mixer going into the soundcard on my computer and I turned up the sound from the LP while ripping so some of the ‘silence’ may be a bit artificial but this is exactly what the LP sounds like. Here’s what Olson ahas to say bout the LP:
Hold on gnaw…last but not least….. the NO STATE NO SOUND comp lp. Dont know what led up to it…think I vaguely remember getting “dared” by Nurse Khrust to put out a record of silence by the crew, not sure, but maybe told Haunted Square D about it….but anyhow…..flashblack to an average but killer brewsday in the late summer, got the crew shooting the gip, no biggy, and Square D rolls up with his “Body Morph” one minute silent track….takes a sec to remember but all right…lets do this. Greh and V invite the now deep crew black to they hut, and on the way I had a walkman in the whip, so i popped in Ds master, hit record and the stop watch for a minute and me and the Connartist sat in silence for a minute and recorded the second track BIRTH REFUSAL. As we got to Grehs, we assembled all the jammers present and hit em up for a minute, all on three different Walkmans all on the original master tape. Was totally strange, Sick Llama was just standing in a yard with the crew looking at him pointing a recorder his way while nothing happened. It was like a very strange gig. So after everyone at the party got recorded/ trapped in NO SOUND, some the garage, some inside a bathroom whilst the crew stared at the close door, someone had the idea to call up some jammers. So No Fucker Johnny, Romero, others all held on the line for a minute of NOTHING. Totally rules. The end result sounds like a Folkways experiment. I ended up coming home and getting busted for “recording silence and not grabbing the Air Condition Window Unit” which was the only reason i went Grehs begin with. Hey, Window AC Unit or not, you are still KOOL with this platter!! Recorded in order, no overdubs or tom foolery, no voices nothing, just weird hiss and an occasional bird chirp in lonesome… All pressed on colored gray vinyl on the new AT style wrapped around sleeve with creepy art, Numbered edition of 200.

Yet another one is the series of one sided LP’s on American Tapes, this time it’s AM750. Exit Human is the first LP by Daniel (Of EXBX tapes & Haunted Castle) and “Hellfire” Holly (The Jasons, Uneven Dead) in their Uneven Universe guise after a few tapes & CDRs on various labels. Pretty great jams.

Throats/EXBX/ Russell Street Soup Sgt/DJ Ding Dong aka Dan D aka
Square D and Hellfire Holly (The Jasons, Uneven Dead, Costco, has a

Another release on Tovah Olson’s own Tovinator label released at the same time as the Tovahaunted LP. You now who Dead Machines are by now so here’s John Olson’s description of the LP at the time it was released..
“Waaaayyyy black in 2002 the Olson-ORourke duo jetted over the pond to meet Dylan and Karen in Brighton, hang for big Ds birthday, soak in the craggy UK atmosphere. Crazed Dylan held a weird show somewhere in London, at the KFDMs dude club, with strange painted walls and a movable stage. Young traveler Big Js eq blew up right before the gig, so DM had to share one electronic set-up and reeds, etc. Was a truly strange night, some punter kept yelling something at us, you can hear it on the record, but cant tell what hes yellin – but it doesnt sound like a wish of good luck. Milch Grande and Dylan also played and I think that [sic] Goldie jammed as well.Heres the DM set, an odd one for sure. Playable at any speed, color vinyl, edition of 200 with a live photo from the gig.”

Here’s the start of a bit of an American Tapes vinyl dump (have 3 or 4 LP’s to post after this post) starting with 3 of the 6 AM ECONO 7″ series. The series was started to get rid of left over 7″ records from the 7″ + CDR series that American Tapes did in mid 2008. The extra 7″s were repackaged in new covers and a thin plastic slipcase, all six were in an edition of 200 each.
These three are AM ECONO 1 – Boy Department Boyz-Live at Shermans March (BDB is John Olson solo), AM ECONO 3 – The Thin Ensemble-Free East Lansing Flashblacks (The Thin Ensemble is Randy Sutherland and John Olson) and AM ECONO 6 – Kill Devil Hill-Ex Kill Devil Hill (who are Ben Hall (Graveyards) and Heath Moerland (Sick Llama)).
I’ve been on a bit of a binge buying up Wasteland Jazz Unit releases over the last few months. I’m not exactly sure why but their brand of freeform & avant jazz experiments have become one of my favourite groups in recent times. WJU is made up of Jon Lorenz on sax and John Rich on clarinet. The American Tapes CDR has been uploaded already onto a few other blogs but I may as well up it once again. I have at least five other Wasteland Jazz Unit releases to post about in the next while. Excellent group.

The Dead Machines are made up of the duo of John & Tovah Olson based out of Ypsilanti, Michigan. John Olson is better known for his part of the band Wolf Eyes and his massively prolific American Tapes label (which this was put out on). Dead Machines use homemade noise machines, clanking drone and sound manipulations to create restrained drones and noise. Definitely one of my favourite Wolf Eyes side projects.
This particular CDr was released in the stupidly rare edition of 8 copies for their appearance at ATP Nightmare Before Christmas 2006. Hasn’t been seen/heard/uploaded since then.
I stupidly sold this last year for something like $200 on ebay which was worth it at the time (paid for my Roadburn festival ticket) but I won’t be doing that again. Because of this I ripped this at V2 quality and didn’t get the chance to rerip at V0 before I sent it off.
