James Ferraro – all 5 new recent CDRs [New Age Tapes, 2009]
EDIT: All links reupped, thanks to Cronos on hipionion
James Ferraro recently released a batch of 5 new CDRs exclusively through Volcanic Tongue about a week ago, naturally they sold out pretty much straight away and I haven’t seen any other distros even mentioning that they’re going to be getting them in so here’s all 5 of them uploaded for you all to get. A reissue of Predator Vision was also released but isn’t in this pack. So far I’ve only managed to listen to Heaven’s Gate which is very like Marble Surf in that it’s a constant repeating religious style sample being played with additional percussion and is pretty great so far. For the others I’ll just copy/paste the Volcanic Tongue description of them which are as full of hyperbole as usual but get the job done in describing them..
James Ferraro – Heavens Gate [New Age Tapes, 2009]
http://www.mediafire.com/?modzyzdro3k
Beautiful new limited edition album from James Ferraro of The Skaters. This one is intended as a soundtrack to the resurrection and transubstantiation of the body after death via the fertilisation of the second world via the second sperm. This is some of his most heavenly synth/drone work to date, like a more Kosmiche-inflected Marble Surf, combining organic accumulations of glissing synth with choirs of angel tones and cracked cassette interventions. Absolutely gorgeous. “The door of heaven gates the edge of life, in the door looking in the eyes of the hourglass, the dance of time projects images of life memory experienced in the shell. In the departure from earth the second self sperm flows into the egg of the second world . There tears are a reminder of waters gift as the physical plane dissolves into the recesses of the mind and the egg is fertilised in the living memory of minds still in the plane passed.” Comes in a plastic case with beautiful original black and white art by James. Highly recommended.
James Ferraro – Edward Flex Presents: Do You Believe In Hawaii? [New Age Tapes, 2009]
http://www.mediafire.com/?eumno3zyagd
Latest installment of barbiturate-bombed muscled flexing and body worship/horror from long-term alternate James Ferraro identity, Edward Flex. Grotesque huffing voices, the sound of pumping iron and choruses of meathead grunts combine with slow, hypnotic keyboard tones to create the ultimate steroid-enhanced transformation scenario with drones that go so far beyond the physical as to sound like the songs of solitary cells destroyed and re-born in the furnace of mutation and evolution. Massively psychedelic and totally deranged. Comes in a plastic case with original black and white art. “What’s up people this is Edward Flex here in my brand new studio in beautiful Hawaii . Come and join us as we waste some metal. In the arena of chrome wave reflection life meets the ultimate rush, of the ocean spray moisturizing our ripped tanned flesh. So come escape with us and enter the dream. Extreme metal retreat awaits. You think you had enough? Don’t even think about it! Let the transformation begin!” Highly recommended.
James Ferraro – Star Digital Theatre: Movies For P.T. Cruisers [New Age Tapes, 2009]
http://www.mediafire.com/?mniyzmdnftj
Beautiful new limited edition album from James Ferraro of The Skaters. This one presents two fantasy movie soundtracks, one for Baby Dreams Inc. (Mr Star Tower In Babytown) and one for Midnight Pacific Fantasy Presents: Pinball Drive . This is closest in style to some of James’s more overtly musical keyboard and hand-drum work with The Skaters, with fast overlapping rhythms riding cascading new age keyboard patterns in a way that conflates ritual work, automating media hypnosis and regression therapy to devastating effect. “In a city operated by babies no paradise is off limits. Babydreams Inc. is forever yours and forever of the stars that power its violet skies. In digi-skies the tail of the wire reaches the magical voice that laughs in the stars. The sunset rushes the voice pushes forward and your mind can only think to see what’s going on in Pinball Drive .” Comes in a plastic case with original black and white artwork and insert.

A.Human Headspace Hell
4. Sounds From The Cam 3: Inside The Mutant Church 2
A. Rage Room: Microwave Head
B. Mysterious Egg Escapes
C. Egg Killers
D. Pipe Leading To Oceania Clear Scan
Beautiful new limited edition album from James Ferraro of The Skaters. This one is a Multitopia-style meditation on urban psychosis, the surveillance society, fast food, microwave radiation and the kind of hallucinatory mindspace created by advertising and invisible brain beams. The music runs from bubbling keyboard fantasias through warped, down-tuned vocals, arcade game sonics, dark psychotic Industrial rhythms and classic 1980s-influenced android soundtracks. Another amazing release that sounds unlike anything else happening circa now. “Welcome to the polluted rat maze we call life here in New KFC City . Hey where’s your head vein? Oh looky here, your eyes aren’t even bloodshot. Yet, you must not be from around here. The eyes of the surveillance cameras record everything here in this engram simulation maze. The energy of judgement emanating from the cams contaminates the minds of the roach humanoid person like myself. See this chain around my neck? I pull it to drain the pressure, pipeheads for life!”
James Ferraro – Genie Head Gas In The Tower Of Dreams [New Age Tapes, 2009]
http://www.mediafire.com/?zmtwzz0bty0
Beautiful new limited edition album from James Ferraro of The Skaters. Subtitled “Jesters Midnight Toys”, this one expands on the occult significance of The Fool by positing avatar-styled jester/genie archetypes capable of reporting back from various dreamstates and visioned alter-realities via a coded series of symbolic forms that collide traditional Tarot imagery with Ferraro’s uniquely irradiated personal pantheon of 1980s god-forms. Five tracks of gorgeous bell tones, sudden jump-cuts into dense jungles of poly-rhythms populated by laughing cartoons, looped hypnotic anchors and the kind of complex, crude minimalism that’s perfect for usurping subconscious patterns and handing the controls to the dream-image of yourself. A profoundly transformative occult tool in the guise of a new age cartoon.

its important to know that james uses no samples in his music from other artist. he creates all of the sounds himself from scratch using old digital samplers/synths and weird keyboards and stuff blending things together. besides using some beavis and butthead straight of the T.V. I read in a italian magazine interview last week, it was cool to hear that because I was under the impression he sampled alot of his material, really adds a really cool dimension knowing that its all from scratch. he was being interviewed from his apartment in las vegas at the time september of last year. was asked about all the internet slamming and replied by saying he doesn’t mind what people think “I imagine most of the people contributing to it to have some inner turmoil they have to get out and it just manifest itself in that way ,” and as far as it being information, the writing is so bad, so sometimes I cant help but interpret what I read as a reflection of their own self hate, the words dissolve and its just the energy behind it, which appears to be pretty black, hopefully it doesn’t spread to far out of the arena, but it seems completely natural for communication to evolve into this” a lot of its okay with him though he goes on to say. he views it as ”a virtual cage of online persona crucifixions and those as “psychological throw downs” but he “loves a good roast” and if it makes some one feel good until the next inability to cope with reality puts them in front of the computer thats cool with him. also from an aesthetic point of view he thinks it’s really cool and makes it easier to understand t.v. shows like CSI LAS VEGAS and Survivor, it’s like watching the central brain of a world on autopilot, and its cool to be in there somewhere. and ended with saying ‘’some times when the rage travels outside of the fun house people should just pull their own plug but you gotta let everyone have their fun, it’s sadistic I love it! killer, seems like a cool guy to me, gonna go see em soon I hope in chicago spring tour I heard. take your shoes off you rule too!

James is a buddy of mine but we’ve lost touch since he and Spencer’s brief sojourn to Berlin a year or so ago (dude is like allergic to email). I think he’s CLEARLY making some of the most important and flat-out amazing music in the world right now, and if anyone knows how to get ahold of a brother, please do drop me a line. If he’s indeed back in the states i’d love to get some of those new New Age Tapes jamz without suffering hard as fuck from the weak currency blues
yall heard that P.A.R.A shit? omg
